How adorably hot and sweet.
Jennifer Haymore has a great talent in creating masterpieces. Her novels are so passionate, touching and maravellously written, she has the admirable ability to catch all the reader attention and keep it till the last word. She's one of those authors I rely on when I'm very much in need of a good and engaging romance; and this novel is not an exception.
I loved the protagonists, both Luke (Lukas) and Emma! Their interactions are soooo full of emotions; sexual tension, passion, grief, adoration, empathy, attraction, longing, anger, torment and the strongest and sweetest love.
As it has probably already been deducted by my previous words, in The Rogue's Proposal there's a strong sexual connotation, and I adored it, not just as per se (if that's was my intent, I would have read another genre) but because this is perfectly melted with an equally strong combination of touching emotions, given in turn by the protagonists backgrounds. There's one "scene" in particular which is emblematic of this, and it is the one where Luke is drunk (and tormented) and begs Emma to let him sleep with her. So maravellous and moving.
I liked a lot of the author's storyline choices, Luke is a "dark" hero and, despite Emma, sometimes he keeps making unhappy decisions and having a difficult personality, he's not totally reformed and changed by the heroine; it's very realistic that a person isn't totally converted also by the strongest feelings. They are perfect for each other and this is demonstrated by their reciprocate capacity to understand and embrace the other flaws, distresses and joys, trying to alleviate the sufferance. And all this is very well pictured by Jennifer Haymore.
I obviously enjoyed a lot also the surrounding, I like the Hawkins, those who already reached their happy ending and those who haven't yet. I can't wait for Esme's novel!
