Review: Portrait of a Forbidden Lady (Magnificent Malverns) - ARC

Author: Kathleen Bittner Roth
Original Title: Portrait of a Forbidden Lady
Release Year: March 2016

Literary Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: England, Victorian Era
Series: 2nd of Magnificent Malverns

Vote: 8 1/2

A passionate, emotional and touching novel.

First, I enjoyed the plot, it is catching, fast paced and moving; second, I deeply enjoyed the bond between the protagonists, Georgiana and Robert; third, I cannot resist a romance about an everlasting rediscovered love; fourth, there is a child. My God I have the secret to reach heaven!

Georgiana and Robert have been forced apart by her family and Robert is now a Crimea War veteran who has decided to settle into a country life and cultivate his artistic talent (love it!). Georgiana however, has been forced to marry a cold, distant and old titled man who recently passed away.

Georgiana and Robert will find themselves in the position to fight for an inheritance. He wants to gain back what his family has lost in a card game and to do so he has to snatch it back from the contending child heir, who is...Georgiana's son.

They are again face to face and the love that once bound them, has never died but now they have secrets, intrigues and old resentments that might obstacle their love to be finally celebrated as it should be.

This is a lovely and touching romance! Deeply recommended.

Buona lettura!
