It's a nice novella, maybe too short
for the intensity of the story.
I liked Suzanna Medeiros' style, it's
sharp, hot and captivating.
The Viscountess Miranda Hathaway has
recently lost her husband and now twelve years have passed since she
ended her courtship with Andrew Osbourne, the Earl of Sanderson, to
marry the older, but much wealthier, Viscount Hathaway.
Unfortunately the Viscounts haven't had
children and since her husband died only a week earlier she decides
to ask the man she has never stopped loving to help her conceive an
heir whom she means to pass off as the Viscount son.
But Miranda's motivation aren't that
selfish and cold: unfortunately she is barren but she finally wants
to have a taste of what she thew away all those years ago when she
followed her parent's wishes and refused Andrew, the love of her
life.
Andrew is no longer the same man who
once believed in love, Miranda refusal, twelve years before, was hard
to accept and when she asks him to help her conceive a child in three
weeks time, he takes the chance to finally have her in his bed.
He soon understands that, besides what
he forced himself to believe, he is still deeply in love with
Miranda, but their time is running out and they both have to decide
what to do about their love and their future...
This is a sweet and passionate romance.
I liked Miranda and I felt quite emphatic with her necessity for a
second chance with the man she loves so much. Firstly was difficult
to me to understand why she gave in so easily to her parents
pressure, and honestly partly I still think the same, but she was
quite young when she married the Viscount.
Andrew at the beginning is quite angry
with Miranda but it doesn't take long to understand that he still
loves her too and then it wasn't hard to forgive her.
I enjoyed the ending, the plot is really
nice, I like the protagonists and I loved James (Miranda nephew and the new Viscount Hathaway).
I'll definitely keep reading this
series, I want to know more about James!
Buona lettura!
