What I liked about this romance is: the
thriller, the hero, his attitude towards the heroine, the
relationship between him and his mother, the antagonist, the
beginning and the author style. So why I'm not giving an higher vote?
Because a story can be good in theory, can have many really bright
sides but, despite that, the result can be not entirely convincing;
this is the case. And the annoying thing is that I can't blame a
specific aspect, I didn't precisely loved the heroine but this is not
the central point for my hesitation. This doesn't mean that Secrets for seducing a royal bodyguard is a bad romance, quite the opposite, my point is that it could have been splendid.
Aden St. George is an accomplished spy
who prefers to keep distance with the ton, especially when his
mother's one-nigh-affair with the Prince Regent has taught him how the
high society can be mean.
His latest mission is to rescue the vibrant, bold and beautiful Lady Vivien Shaw. She has been kidnapped and as soon as the mission is successfully concluded the kidnapper must be found.
Adan is so pushed again in society to
keep an eye on the lovely Vivien, the woman to whom he has felt an
instant strong connection and protectiveness.
Adan is adorable! What I've really
liked his how caring and sweet he is. Vivien trusts him, since the
beginning, she relys on him and I found all the situation very
touching. Their connection is lovely and passionate.
The heroine is strong, sometimes too
much in my opinion; she deals with a lot and she's way too “calm”;
but I liked her behaviour with the romance development.
The story is entertaining, thrilling,
with a good pace; the ending is beautiful and I'm looking forward
(you've no idea how much) to read Dominic's own story, if there's
going to be one, I hope so!
Buona lettura!
