Let's start with a short preamble. Marriages in the middle of the plot are a big turn off for me. Very big. I don't like that two people who share developing feelings are pushed in a forced marriage. As far as I'm concerned, it weakens the romance. I prefer the proposal to be a untangled decision and not a imposition, also and especially if there are already some feelings between the protagonists.

That said, here there was an attenuating aspect, the hero and heroine had been "friends" since they were very young. That, on the other hand, I like.

Mamma mia che palle (perdonate l'eufemismo).
Purtroppo però il problema non si è limitato alla noia: è troppo, ma veramente troppo inverosimile.


Rose, Lily e Dahlia sono le tre sorelle scozzesi Balfour; dopo il matrimonio della primogenita con il Conte Sinclair (How to capture a countess), sono le restanti due a doversi occupare della famiglia.
Purtroppo, il padre (che non ho ben capito se è solo incosciente o anche molto tocco...) chiede un prestito di tremila sterline al vicino, il burbero e sfigurato, Lord Kirk; i soldi sarebbero dovuti essere impiegati per il debutto delle due figlie ancora nubili ma, vista la sua passione per la botanica, il caro signor Balfour li adopera per costruire una serra, pensando di guadagnare dalla vendita dei fiori che vi coltiva.
